Who We Are
Cancer Friends began with a simple idea to get together and support each other. The first group began in August 2015 at LMC located at 1700 E. Saunders. The free program continues to grow after it's inception and continues to be a supportive towards all who wish to join. Patients, survivors, and caretakers are all welcome.

Our Founder
Nancy Santos, who died in 2018 at age 35, founded the Laredo Cancer Society in 2015 to help support and provide assistance to cancer patients. It began as an emotional support group and later grew into the nonprofit, which raised money to help pay for cancer patients' gas, rent and utilities when the hospital bills stacked up.
"Cancer made me become the person that I was meant to be,"
Santos had previously said.

Cherish the memories of all your great moments, of those who have passed, of those that are still with us.
03 Fight Back
